About Me

Hi, I’m Elyssa.

I’ve always considered this industry not just my career, but my vocation. My journey here began with my own health challenges in my younger years. For a long time, I didn’t know what was happening to me. It was my G.P. who first diagnosed me with M.E./fibromyalgia. However, through years of research, self-discovery, and piecing everything together, I now know it’s Hypermobility Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) that’s been the driving force behind my symptoms.

In those challenging times, my incredible mum and dad searched tirelessly for ways to help me. That’s how I discovered reflexology, reiki, aromatherapy, and crystal healing. They became lifelines as I faced symptoms like chronic fatigue, brain fog, pain, and extreme sensitivity to stimuli, foods, and chemicals.

While I still live with chronic conditions, I’ve come a long way. Now in my early forties, I’ve learned to embrace them as part of me. I use a variety of tools to keep myself well, and I believe this lived experience is what makes me so effective in my work. I bring empathy, understanding, and a wealth of life experience to every session.

One of my greatest passions is supporting neurodivergent individuals, those with chronic health conditions, and individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). As someone who is neurodivergent, I deeply understand the complexities of these experiences and the unique challenges they can bring.

Over the past 18 years, I’ve worked as a clinical complementary therapist in private-sector SEND schools and homes. I also spent five years as a therapist at Velindre Cancer Centre, where I gained invaluable insights and knowledge.

Having worked extensively in specialist SEND schools and environments, I’ve developed a compassionate and adaptive approach that meets each individual where they are. I am passionate about creating safe, supportive spaces where everyone—regardless of their needs—can feel seen, heard, and cared for.

That said, I warmly welcome anyone who feels drawn to my therapies and way of working.

Beyond my work, my passions are deeply rooted in family, animals, children, nature, and the healing arts. Healing is not just what I do; it’s part of my everyday life. I love connecting with nature—whether I’m treating people or animals, foraging for plants, or making salves and tinctures from the herbs we grow on our biodynamic farm.

We biodynamic garden here on the farm to get the best from our vegetables, flowers, and fruits while maintaining a strong symbiotic relationship with the land. We also keep a small number of beehives, and we’ve been fortunate to harvest delicious honey and produce pure beeswax candles. Over the years, we’ve even won awards for our bee products—a testament to the love and care we put into our farm.

The first therapy I studied was reiki, and it holds a special place in my heart. I took my time to work my way up to becoming a reiki master—ten years, to be exact. I wanted to truly embody it, feel it, breathe it, and live it. Over that decade, I practiced and honed my skills until I felt ready. Even though I hold the title of “master,” I feel uneasy with the term, as I believe it takes a lifetime to truly master anything. I’m still learning and growing, and I’m a different person from the one who first achieved that milestone all those years ago.

Tynton Farm, my home, is a 26-acre hill farm in the beautiful Garw Valley of Bridgend. It was derelict and unloved when we found it in 2019, but we’ve lovingly restored it into a haven of calm and healing. The farm is steeped in history—it was once the home of Dr. Richard Price, a Welsh philosopher involved in the American and French revolutions. Today, the land is full of magic and charm, and I feel incredibly blessed to call it home.

At Tynton Farm, my goal is to create a space for deep relaxation and restorative healing. In the future, I hope to offer outdoor therapies, foraging workshops, and nature-based healing experiences to the public. Picture receiving treatments by our babbling brook, surrounded by nature’s tranquillity—a chance to reconnect with yourself and the earth.

My therapies include reiki, Pure Energy Healing, crystal healing, reflexology, lymphatic drainage reflexology, aromatherapy, Zone Face Lift (with facial cupping), cranial reflexology, and facial reflexology. I’m also a qualified equine-facilitated therapist and walking mindfulness coach. Additionally, I offer reiki and energy healing for animals, who are just as much a part of our healing journeys.

I’m fully insured and governed by the Federation of Holistic Therapists, ensuring my practice meets the highest standards.

If this resonates with you, I’d be honoured to help you on your journey to inner calm and balance, in a place that feels like home.
